Description
This course provides a brief overview of some of the frequently employed service approaches in the field of peer support. In approximately 15 minutes, you will learn about the core principles of each approach and explore how Peer Supporters can effectively apply them in their supportive connections with the communities they serve.


The content is designed to be interactive, offering opportunities to:
  • Review information not only about what Peer Supporters do, but how they do it
  • Explore resources to discover practical and community-based tools to deepen your understanding
  • Engage in personal reflection to consider how these approaches align with your own practice and values, and
  • Gauge your understanding of the material with brief, self-paced Knowledge Checks
Whether you are a Peer Supporter, in a position of leadership supporting Peer Services, in an allied role within the health care sector, or simply curious about the field, this course will equip you with foundational knowledge to begin bridging the gap between theoretical service approaches and support in action.
